Follow "Big Thoroughfare" into Smith Island Harbor and look for the telephone tower.

Smith Island cruise

7 days a week in season, The most modern fully equipped
cruise ship carries 150 passengers. Then take an appox. 2  hour cruise
across the Chesapeake Bay to Smith Island, enjoy dining at The Bayside Inn.  
Then climb aboard the tour bus for a tour around the island.

Smith Island is Mryland's only inhabited island accessible only by boat.
The island has 3 seperate villages, Ewell, Tylerton and Rhodes Point
12 miles westo of Cristfield, Md. Populated by 500 people
 
In 1608 Capt. John Smith sailed the Chesapeake and named the island.
