Do not buy a maytag !

We bought a Maytag side by side refrigerator 6 years ago.
We got a recall notice on a part and now our refrigerator does not work ! The recall part may not have been the reason the refrigerator stopped working, maybe a coincidence ?
I called Maytag and their response was...
"The recall had nothing to do with it breaking down and a refrigerator only lasts 5 - 6 years."
He didn't even ask why it wasn't working or what the recall was.
I don't know about you but I have never had to buy another refrigerator after only 6 years.
I find the customer service to be a joke.
Maytag could have easily sold me another refrigerator by offering 10% to 25% off
since everyone is offering those deals right now. They wouldn't have lost a cent.
They didn't and now they have lost a customer ! I will never buy another Maytag !
You may have had good luck with Maytag in the past and so have I but I find the
customer service lacking in customer service !
Especially since I hear they are going out of business. It is not surprising to me !
